Current Design

This is the current design of the Janthina, which is a 3.5 inch freestyle FPV quad with a fully FDM 3D printed body.

FPV Flight

This is some flight footage of the drone captured on my Insta360 Go 3s. My flying skills have yet to catch up to the drone's capabilities.

Construction

This video shows the printing on the drone frame on a QIDI Q2, which takes around 7 hours. The frame is Polycarbonate Carbon fiber and weighs 76 grams.

Design Process

I used several design tools to create the drone's layout and structure. I started with blender to create a layout for all of the parts. Then I used FreeCAD to design parts that needed to be exact (like the mounts for the VTX and stack). Then I created the actual body of the drone with Blender's subdivision surface modifier. Finally, I used the Qidi slicer to print it.
